About

Staff Profile

Originally from Charlottesville, Virginia, Caitlin grew up at the foot of the Blue Ridge Mountains and gained a love for spending time in the outdoors from an early age. She attended Davidson College where she earned a Bachelors of Science in Environmental Studies, worked as a research fellow in the geology lab, and was active in the outdoors program leading backpacking, paddling, and biking trips. Caitlin loves to experience new places and spent a summer working on a sustainable farm in Ireland and studied abroad with SFS in Panama in 2015. After graduating from Davidson, Caitlin led backpacking and kayaking trips in Iceland and worked in land stewardship and outdoor programming with the Carolina Thread Trail based in Charlotte, North Carolina. This year, Caitlin is excited to return to SFS on the student affairs team in Australia to help facilitate student experiences and explore the Atherton Tablelands and beyond! When she’s not working, you can usually find Caitlin going for a run, reading a book in her hammock, or eating snacks.
