Jeremy was born and raised in Ann Arbor, Michigan. He attended Oberlin College and majored in psychology, with minors in environmental studies and politics. Beginning freshman year, he joined the Oberlin Steel Pan Band and had his first experiential travel to Trinidad. He joined a local band and played in Trinidad’s international pan festival. Jeremy studied abroad his junior year in Thailand with the International Sustainable Developmental Studies Institute, where he had the opportunity to learn Thai language, live with host families, and learn about global environmental topics through the lens of local communities and their ability to react to environmental change. Jeremy loved living abroad and learning from the local communities in which he was living, finding value in culturally immersive experiences, hands-on learning, and getting lost while traveling.
Since graduating, Jeremy has worked as an experiential educator for Rustic Pathways and Operation Groundswell, leading trips in Thailand, Laos, Vietnam, and Mongolia. Jeremy has experienced the impact and value in international immersive travel, both on himself and the students he travels with. He is extremely excited to work with students in Bhutan to help them get the most out of their study abroad experience!
