Staff Profile

Steph Benoit hails from Burlington, Vermont, where she grew up enjoying the state’s lakes, mountains, and farm-to-table food culture. While still in high school, Steph completed a summer program with SFS in the Turks and Caicos, which reinforced her desire to see more of the world. Over the past 5 years she’s been fortunate enough to be able to combine her love of travelling with her formal education, studying abroad in Scotland, France, and Sweden while completing her undergrad at Queen’s University in Ontario, Canada. In June 2018 she completed a Master’s in Environment, Development and Peace at the UN-Mandated University for Peace in San Jose, Costa Rica. These experiences have made her passionate about the capacity of study abroad to inspire critical thinking and an appreciation for diversity. Outside of academia Steph loves running, hiking, climbing, and pretty much any other activity that brings her outside! This year, she looks forward to getting to know Bhutan and help facilitate a transformative experience for all students who pass through the SFS program.
