Staff Profile

Travis was born and raised in Minneapolis, MN. He attended college at Whitworth University in Spokane, WA, where he got his first taste of the impacts of study abroad. He traveled in a cohort for a semester throughout the five countries of Central America, studying economics, history, biology and language. After graduating in 2008, he pursued various jobs in Latin America to further his interest in the region. Travis is thrilled to provide students with experiences to learn about other cultures and ecosystems. He hopes that students’ time at SFS is full of fulfilling challenges and expands their understanding of different values, opinions, and backgrounds. Travis hopes that students ultimately come away with valuable experiences and enhanced skills to be future contributors to a more equitable society in an increasingly global economy.
