We don’t have any more space at CRS to plant trees but will certainly be continuing to support TREAT and other community tree-planting efforts on the Atherton Tablelands. This could serve as both the trees for the carbon offset and an adaptation project for WWF – it’s a community initiative to utilise carbon credits to recirculate funds back into planting maintenance and further ecological plantings. The TREAT plantings are of course of high biological value and focus on upland areas vulnerable to climate change, landscape connectivity and waterways in Great Barrier Reef catchments.
