Welcome to the SFS News From The Field Blog!

With nearly 700 contributed articles from students, staff, faculty, and alumni, the blog is a great way to explore “life in the field” at The School for Field Studies. We designed the blog so that it’s easy to find what you are looking for—whether you are a student, parent, alum, study abroad adviser, or a faculty member. Here are a few ways that you can use the blog:

  • Already know which SFS Center you want to read about? Click on the green box in the upper left to filter posts by Center. Each SFS Center has a different theme of study based on the local ecosystem and needs of the local community.
  • Want to read about research? Use the categories tool in the upper right to filter posts filtered by topic like community engagement, news or academics.
  • Interested in what SFS students or faculty have to say? Use our contributor tool to filter posts by author: students, alumni, faculty, or staff.
  • Looking for something specific? Whether you want to search posts written by students from a particular university or learn more about a research project, our search box will help you find what you are looking for.

If you find a blog post here that you think exemplifies life with SFS or is a “must read,” please feel free to share the link to that post in the comments.

While the blog is great for real time updates and alerts, the SFS website has a vast amount of information about our programs and staff, as well as how to apply. Be sure to check it out.
