Hello! My name is Mairin and I am so excited to be one of the Student Health and Wellness Managers in Australia. My time with SFS began back in 2020 in Cambodia and I am excited to return and support students in Tropical North Queensland.

My passion for travel began when I was 9 and my parents moved our family to Shanghai, China for two years. Throughout my college years I continued to seek out opportunities to expand my knowledge of the world and the environment including participating in a NOLS semester in Baja California, Mexico, and my semester in Cambodia before graduating from Hamilton College with a BA in Geoscience. I then went on to pursue a Masters in Coastal and Marine Environments from the University of Galway.

The time I spent in these beautiful places learning about the natural environment spurred my love for outdoor recreation, but it was growing up in my hometown in Central New York where it all started. Hiking, kayaking, skiing and biking in the Adirondacks and the Finger Lakes regions of New York fueled my passion to be outside exploring. I am so excited to bring my love of the outdoors to Australia!
