about
Profile
I am a communications specialist, science writer, and social media manager for the Cooperative Institute for Research in Environmental Sciences at the University of Colorado Boulder. I am passionate about telling stories and making environmental science more accessible—and I really enjoy digging into data analytics and creating eye-catching visuals and graphics.
Previously, I was the program manager for the Center for Education, Engagement, and Evaluation’s We are Water project, which brings a traveling exhibit and hands-on educational programming about local water issues to rural and Tribal libraries in the southwestern United States. In 2023, the project won a 2023 Governor’s Award for inspiring awareness and change in the desert Southwest.
I have PhD in geological sciences from the University of Colorado Boulder, and a B.S. in geology and geography from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
Favorite SFS Memory: Trudging through the Noolturesh River to take water samples (to measure suspended sediment loads), measure turbidity, and record water depth, river width, and signs of erosion.
