Profile

I am a May 2023, first-generation graduate of Davidson College with a Bachelor of Science in Biology and a minor in anthropology. I love community engagement and working with students, as can been seen by my extensive experience with K-12 and undergraduate mentorship, tutoring/teaching, and volunteering.

I have a keen interest in projects that show the interdisciplinary relationship between natural and social science, and I aspire to grow this interest into a career in Public Health. I’ve spent my past three Summers conducting neuropathology research at SRC Biosciences Inc. in Tampa, FL, and am currently participating in an Oak Ridge Institute for Science and Education (ORISE) research fellowship at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.

Favorite SFS Memory: My scholastic and research experiences through SFS helped unearth a passion for public health and environmental justice that I could never formerly put into words. Thanks to my time there, I became a better scholar, scientist, and global citizen. I am exceedingly grateful for the experiences I had to practice my Spanish with locals, learn more about Panamanian history and culture, and conduct human-subject-based research through the framework of the Sustainable Development Goals. SFS helped give me clarity and a sense of direction during a period of time when I did not know what I wanted to do after college.
