After completing my undergraduate studies with a degree in Political Science, Environmental Studies and Legal Studies, I finally found a role that perfectly intersects both of my degree concentrations. I currently work in the legal department at the world’s leading producer of clean power, Environmental Defense Fund (EDF) Renewables, a French multinational electric utility company partnered with the United Nations to achieve Net 0 emissions by 2050.

Working out of EDF’s corporate office in San Diego, my team and department build solar fields and wind farms all across the United States. As a part of EDF’s land preservation and conservation efforts, all of our signed leases include a decommissioning plan to restore the land used for our projects back to its original condition. I feel as though the work I do every day helps contribute to the goal of Net 0 and makes a difference in our climate change journey. I believe my experience at SFS helped transform my perspective not only about climate change, but about the world as a whole, and helped to kickstart a career that coincided with making a difference.
