I have been a public school teacher for over twenty years mostly in northcentral Pennsylvania. I currently teach ESL, but have also taught the subjects of environmental science, anatomy, biology, and Title 1 Reading throughout my career.

I love the outdoors and enjoy hiking and biking all around when I’m not busy sitting in the stands and cheering on my son in soccer, basketball, track, and swimming.

Favorite SFS Memory: We covered so much ground in the Costa Rica program while studying the land in protection versus the land in production. The sights and sounds of every field trip from rainforests, to volcanoes, and beaches to farms make it very difficult to list just one favorites memory from my semester abroad.

We had a homestay for one weekend where we were placed with a local family. My family took me to the beach where we enjoyed fresh pineapple, a banana boat cruise on the water, and listened to the melodies of Bob Marley throughout the day. My classmates and the people of Costa Rica were exquisite. I remember them fondly as I reflect on my adventures that took place over twenty years ago.
