Profile
My love for working outdoors with animals, engaging in research, and traveling as much as possible was sparked during my time with the School for Field Studies (SFS) in Southern Chile. As a dedicated Zoologist, my enthusiasm for conservation, research, and animals has only grown stronger. I’ve had the privilege of working in various roles, from zookeeping and veterinary medicine to education and assisting in capturing footage for animal documentaries. These experiences have allowed me to develop a comprehensive understanding of animal behavior, health, and conservation.
The hands-on experience and immersive learning at SFS deepened my commitment to environmental research and conservation efforts. These adventures not only broadened my horizons but also reinforced my dedication to protecting and studying the diverse ecosystems and wildlife that I am so passionate about.
Favorite SFS Memory: One of my most cherished memories is our unforgettable ‘spring break’ trek to El Fitz Roy, where we hiked the iconic Patagonia mountain range. The breathtaking views, coupled with the camaraderie of wonderful friends and splendid sunshine, made for a truly stunning experience. At the summit, we enjoyed lunch while exploring the frozen lake nestled at the tower’s base.
A close runner-up in my memory bank is being part of the inaugural cohort to visit Chile. We immersed ourselves in the rich local ecosystem, setting a high standard for future groups to follow.
