Profile

Denis Daniel Simba is a wildlife management professional from Tanzania with a Bachelor of Science in Wildlife Management from Sokoine University of Agriculture (SUA). He volunteered as a Wildlife Officer at Burunge Wildlife Management Area, contributing to law enforcement, ecological monitoring, and community-based conservation.

Denis has also worked on short-term projects such as waterbird censuses, animal population counts, and rangeland assessments, experiences that strengthened his ecological research and field skills. He broadened his international conservation exposure by attending the School for Field Studies (SFS) Summer Programs I and II in Tanzania, where he engaged in biodiversity studies, sustainable natural resource management, and community-based conservation practices.

Denis is passionate about human-wildlife conflict mitigation, community-led conservation, and exploring the links between climate change and gender in natural resource governance. He aspires to contribute to conservation strategies that safeguard ecosystems while supporting local livelihoods.

Favorite SFS Memories: Teamwork, knowledge sharing and field work.
