Profile
For as long as I can remember, I have been passionate about working with and learning about animals of all types, both domestic and wild. This led me to Colorado State University where I earned a Bachelor’s in Zoology in 2019. I participated in the Wildlife Management Studies program in Tanzania during my junior year, which helped me to gain a deeper understanding of the many complex and unique ways an ecosystem is interconnected, and the impact of humans on those complicated systems.
While at CSU, I also began working at Greenwood Wildlife Rehabilitation Center. After a brief return to New York and some experience working with animals used in scientific research, I took a position as Mammal Care & Facility Coordinator at Greenwood. While supervising the care of our mammal patients and becoming a licensed wildlife rehabilitator, I gained experience in organizational administration, handling inventory and ordering, and facility management. Through this role, I further cemented my interest in addressing how humans fit in to and can be better stewards of the world and ecosystems in which we reside. Now more than ever, it is essential to create long-lasting solutions for environmental changes, human-wildlife conflicts, and preserving our natural ecosystems.
Moving forward, I am very interested in expanding my skills in science communication, administrative work to support animal welfare organizations, and working with different stakeholders to create meaningful solutions for environmental concerns.
