Dear Future SFS Student…

Dear Prospective Student,

We haven’t met, but if you’re like any other SFS student I have met, you crave adventure, love the environment, and have a passion for learning and igniting change in the world. Maybe you’re just starting your study abroad search or maybe you’ve already committed to SFS. Regardless, we are nearly two months into the fall semester and there are a few pieces of advice I want to share with you.

#1: If you want a free mudbath, leave your gumboots with good tread at home.

#2: Bring your best binoculars for our wildlife walks. It’s a fashion statement.

#3: Pack a hat.

#4: Carry a stick to defend your coconut from the macaques at Angkor Wat.

#5: Practice your best Tarzan impression.

#6: Nap, because your days are packed with inspiring classes and engaging field trips, on the back of a wagon-like “mechanical cow” as it traverses the rough terrain of a wildlife sanctuary.

#7: Learn more than you ever thought you would in the best classroom in the world (ie. nature).

#8: Meet friends that make you laugh harder and longer than you’ve ever laughed in your life.
