Update from South Caicos

Turks and Caicos Islands

This past week the students were hard at work collecting data for Directed Research (DR) every day! DR field week is the busiest week of the semester, and we’ve had students in the field gathering data on things ranging from lionfish, mangroves, and conch to coral disease, fish behavior, and seagrass population health. When they aren’t out in the water, our students are still engaging in community outreach, this week having visited the island’s wellness center where they spent time with some senior citizens of South Caicos.
