Sustaining Tropical Ecosystems: Biodiversity, Conservation, and Development

This course provides students with an introduction to the practical field skills and topical knowledge necessary to understand, develop, and participate in community and tropical ecosystem-based research projects. Students examine the ecological, economic, and natural resource management issues that surround protected areas and tourism management, parks and people relations, and biodiversity assessment and protection, with the intent of exploring sustainable development and management strategies.
