Faculty Profile

I have been working for non-scientific and several scientific institutions (e.g., Museo Galileo – Institut and Museum of History of Science; University of Florence – Natural History Museum of the University of Florence.

I have collaborations with the California Academy of Sciences, USA; the IUCN – The World Conservation Union; as non-governmental expert of the European Community; the CoReGe, Research and Management Committee of PIM Initiative (Mediterranean small islands Initiative). I am member of several scientific societies [e.g., SEH- Societas Europaea Herpetologica (of which I was President 2009-2017); SHI Societas Herpetologca Italica;, Society for the Study of Amphibians and Reptiles, USA, Sicilian Society of Natural Science, ANMS (National Scientific Museums Association), Italian Society of Speleology]. At present I am member of a Commission of the Italian Ministero dell’Ambiente e della Sicurezza Energetica.
