Staff Profile

Gabriela fell in love with Latin America when she traveled around Colombia at age 15 to learn Spanish and embrace her cultural roots. Her early travels forged her academic interests in education and culture, leading her to study abroad in Madrid and New York to pursue a Masters in International Education. Throughout her career, she had the opportunity to travel extensively through North America, South America, and Europe to teach on short-term faculty programs, manage community service trips, and explore diverse terrain. She previously worked at the School for Field Studies in Chile in student life and risk management and is elated to join the HQ team. Returning to SFS, she hopes to support students and field staff in forming deep connections with their surroundings and reflecting on the impact of travel. In her free time, she can be found cooking, completing all sorts of puzzles, or getting lost in the woods.
