Staff Profile
I started life with the ambition of being a mermaid when I grew up and though I had to alter my expectations a little as being a full-time mermaid became less accessible, I think I have managed to fulfil that dream to the best of my abilities. Having always been part fish with my hobbies: swimming, surfing, sailing, etc., it also made sense that I would also dedicate myself to saving that environment with my job. I started off by learning how to build 3D models of coral reefs in Dominica with Operation Wallacea. After finishing my A-levels, I went to Mexico for 7 months to work with a coral lab at GVI to restore and monitor reefs whilst getting my Divemaster. Following my return to England, I achieved PADI Instructor with Ocean Turtle Diving, gaining specialties along the way.
At The University of Exeter, I fostered my love for corals and established the Dive Society. Once I finished my master’s I moved to Greece to supervise Marine Ecology research. I am so happy to now be able to bring all of that experience to SFS TCI and help with the conservation and education surrounding the area!
