Staff Profile

José Gabriel holds a bachelor’s degree in biology from the University of Costa Rica. He completed an internship at UC Davis, where heworked in a postharvest lab, and has participated in various wildlife monitoring projects, with a focus on bat ecology. He is an active member of the Bat Conservation Program of Costa Rica (PCM-CR) and the Leaf Architects Project team.

At SFS Costa Rica, José Gabriel supports academic delivery, assists with research and community activities, and helps with gardening, logistics, and field trip transportation. Passionate about making science accessible, he is committed to applied conservation and helps bridge the gap between local culture and international students.

His goal is to pursue a master’s degree focused on conservation and continue developing personal projects that promote ecological understanding and stewardship.
