Staff Profile

Katlyn has been a dedicated professional in the field of International Education since 2001. Prior to assuming the position of SFS President-elect, she served as the Chief Operating Officer at The School for Field Studies, where she oversaw multiple departments, fostered organizational cohesion, collaborated on strategic planning, and managed programming across 12 countries. During her tenure at SFS, Katlyn has held various leadership roles, including Vice President for Strategic Initiatives and New Program Development and Administrative Director. In these roles, she spearheaded program development, managed international partnerships, and played a key role in organizational growth.

Katlyn’s passion for international education and experiential learning was sparked in high school during an exchange program in Alicante, Spain. This enthusiasm grew during her junior year abroad in Sevilla, Spain, where she studied Spanish language, literature, and culture.

Katlyn earned a Bachelor’s degree in Spanish with a minor in Political Science from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. She also holds a Master’s degree in Intercultural Relations from Lesley University and has completed additional coursework and training in leadership, finance, and fundraising.

She began her professional career at the University of Massachusetts International Programs Office, advising students. She subsequently held multiple roles at the Council on International Educational Exchange (CIEE) and has tutored students with disabilities to help them achieve their learning goals.

With over two decades of experience, Katlyn remains committed to providing students with transformative experiences, fostering global connections, and promoting reciprocity with SFS’ host communities. She is passionate about SFS’ mission and its unique ability to connect people to their environment and inspire action.

Katlyn enjoys spending as much time as possible with her husband and daughter, practicing yoga, skiing, being by the ocean, and attending live music events.
