Staff Profile

Although I grew up in Wyoming, my love for the ocean and its creatures blossomed from a young age fueled by books, documentaries, and the occasional vacation. In high school, I attended Acadia Institute of Oceanography in Maine where I gained valuable hands-on field experience and affirmed that I did want to pursue a career in the marine sciences. I earned my degree in Environmental Science/Policy from Whitman College in Walla Walla, Washington and studied at SFS CMRS in Spring 2020. Unfortunately, we did not finish our semester due to COVID, but I always knew that I wanted to come back. In the meantime, I spent the summer at Monterey Bay Whale Watch and enjoyed assisting in photo ID and behavioral studies as well as facilitating educational programs. I finished school online and then moved to Key Largo to work at a dive shop and complete my Divemaster certification before returning to CMRS as part of the waterfront team. I am passionate about sharing and teaching about the marine environment outside the conventional classroom and conducting research that adds value to local economies and ecosystems. In my free time, I love to go beach combing for shells and sea glass and take pictures of the beauty South Caicos has to offer underwater and on land!
