Financial Gifts
Center-Specific Projects, Annual Fund & Endowed Scholarships
Your contribution – no matter the size – makes a big impact. Make a gift in support of the SFS General Fund to provide financial aid to students who otherwise could not attend, enable SFS to respond quickly to opportunities and challenges outside of our control, and help sustain the environmental research that is so important to the communities we engage. Support can also be provided through gifts that establish or contribute to endowed scholarship funds and center-specific projects that will create a lasting legacy. Through the generosity of friends, alumni, and supporters, SFS can continue to provide life-changing experiences for our planet’s future environmental leaders.
Memorial & Tribute Gifts

Philanthropy comes in many forms. It is often the best way for you to support the causes that are significant to you. When you give to SFS, you help us make a difference. One of the most important and significant ways you can support SFS’s mission is through planned giving. Planned giving opportunities may be simple endowments, bequests, gifts of life insurance, securities or other investments, annuities and trusts.
A growing community of SFS supporters have made the deeply meaningful decision to include a gift in their will or trust, or to name SFS as the beneficiary of their IRA, other retirement plan, life insurance, or other financial account. Choose to honor SFS in one or more of the following ways:
- Naming SFS as a beneficiary in a will or living trust
- Making a gift of cash or appreciated securities to establish a charitable gift annuity
- Creating a charitable remainder trust
- Naming SFS as the beneficiary of a life insurance policy or retirement account
- Naming SFS as a beneficiary of real estate in a beneficiary/transfer on death deed

Recurring donations help us plan for the future. We invite you to join a special group of committed monthly donors dedicated to education, environmental research, and addressing the critical issues of our time. What’s more important than the size of your donation is the commitment you are making to providing regular support each month. Whether it’s $10 or $50 (or more!) per month, you can rest assured knowing that you are supporting programs that have a deep and long-lasting impact on our students, the scientific community, our environment, and the local communities we engage.

It all adds up! With payments spread out month to month, becoming a monthly donor fits any budget and allows you to plan and spread your philanthropy over time. You invest what makes sense for you and your family, and as a result, you make an incredible impact over the course of your giving.
It’s also easy! Set your desired donation amount and we will take care of the rest. Your gifts are automatic, giving you peace of mind knowing you are making a difference. You’re in control – It’s easy to change your donation amount and you can cancel at any time. At the end of the year, you receive a donation letter detailing your contributions for your taxes.
IT’S AS EASY AS…
- Select the SFS General Fund, or a different specific fund from the SFS Giving Opportunities page
- Input the amount for your recurring donation, highlight the “Monthly” button (instead of the default “One Time” button) and click “Continue”
- Complete the payment details on the following page and click “Donate”
That’s it! Your donation will recur each month on the date of your first donation. After you’ve submitted the initial donation, you will receive an automatic email with the details of your donation, tax information, and instructions on how to create your account to manage your donations going forward.
Double your impact with a matching gift.
Many companies offer a matching gift program to encourage philanthropy among their employees. Some companies will even match spouse and retiree donations. By simply completing your company’s matching gift form (on-line or paper), you may be able to double, or even triple, the impact of your gift! Check with your human resources department for more information.
